About the greeting card design

This cheerful ‘Aussie Christmas’ Australian Christmas greeting card has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a bright red and yellow Vegemite jar with the words “Merry Christmas and a happy new year” written across the label. A red ribbon is tied around the jar. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this greeting card has a bold colour palette, using vibrant yellow, red and black.

Aussie Christmas cards hand-made in Melbourne

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Aussie Snack Tree’ Christmas card is hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers. Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our greeting cards are printed on high quality recycled paper, and our envelopes are 100% recycled.
