The Nonsense Maker – Kangaroo Christmas Card

About the greeting card design

This adorable ‘Kangaroo Christmas’ Australian Christmas greeting card has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a playful kangaroo wearing a red reindeer nose and Christmas lights hung throughout tie on antlers. There is a joey in the kangaroo’s pouch wearing a little Christmas hat. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this greeting card has a red brown colour palette, using mostly red and brown, with touches of green, yellow, and purple.

Aussie Christmas cards hand-made in Melbourne

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Aussie Snack Tree’ Christmas card is hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers. Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our greeting cards are printed on high quality recycled paper, and our envelopes are 100% recycled.
