The Nonsense Maker – Christmas Lunch

About the greeting card design

This nostalgic ‘Christmas Lunch’ Australian Christmas greeting card has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a typical Australian Christmas feast laid out on a table with an assortment of chairs around it. Below the table hand lettered cursive font says “Marry Christmas”. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this greeting card has a neutral colour palette, using mostly shades of brown, red, green, and pink.

Aussie Christmas cards hand-made in Melbourne

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Aussie Snack Tree’ Christmas card is hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers. Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our greeting cards are printed on high quality recycled paper, and our envelopes are 100% recycled.
